Continued detention of lawyer Dr. Abdullah Al-Faiz since March 2022

The Saudi authorities have been detaining lawyer and former judge Abdullah Al-Faiz since March 2022, due to old tweets in which he expressed his opinion.

Human rights sources have reported that Al-Faiz is being tried in the Specialized Criminal Court, but no information about the trial’s outcome is available yet.

It is noted that Abdullah Al-Faiz is a former judge and a Sharia advisor, who holds a Ph.D. from the Higher Judicial Institute in Saudi Arabia.

SANAD Organisation for Human Rights calls on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Dr. Abdullah Al-Faiz and provide him with the necessary compensation for what he has suffered.
